Strive for a realistic work-life balance

Every job demands various levels of attention and now that everyone is confined within the safety of their homes, one can structure his/her work based on convenience. It is thus imperative to put all factors into consideration and plan how you want to balance your work and personal life.

Prioritize your tasks correctly

It is very easy to be at a loss when prioritizing your tasks, more so, when you are at home without any domestic help. Identifying what time of the day you are most productive is your best option. Keep that slot separate and dedicate it completely to your office work. This leaves the rest of the hours free to help your partners, flat mates or family with household chores and other activities.

Define your work hours

Now that you have sorted your productive hours for the work, ensure you stick to it consistently. Make it a habit to clock in when you sign in and out of work. This will give you clarity on the number of hours you are putting in thereby helping you make a calendar based on it. This work style will help you draw a line between work and personal life without any guilt.

Draw a boundary

There are times when work pops up way past the usual hours thereby disrupting your personal time. If this becomes a habit, that is a red flag for you.  Make it a point to log out of all your work accounts at the end of your day. This habit will ensure that your work-life does not interfere with your personal sphere. Work and family are equally important and one must not encroach into the other and disturb the equilibrium.

Take care of yourself

Because you are forced to stay indoors 24X7, this can lead to a negative impact on both the mind and body. Your body and mind allow you to produce great work so taking care of them is extremely important.

Try to begin your day with some home workouts. There are so many fitness applications and even YouTube videos that have made working out at home really easy, and also eating healthy.

Take this time to dedicate an equal amount of attention to your loved ones and your work. If managed properly, there will be enough time for yourself, and your personal & professional goals. Hopefully, with these tips/advice, you should be able to bring your work-life balance back in form.
